How It Works

🚆 Getting There:

• Take the scenic Metro-North train along the Hudson River to Poughkeepsie (recommended)
• Alternatively, drive directly to the house.  There is special pricing if you drive and use your car for the weekend

🚗 Weekend Schedule:

• Arrive Friday evening then sit back and relax as we prepare dinner for you on the grill followed by a huge bonfire with s’mores.
• Saturday Morning, sleep in then enjoy a delicious breakfast then a moderate local hike in the area.  Because we are so close we will be able to hike at Lake Minnewaska!
• After our hike we will head back to the campsite for a BBQ lunch party.  Swimming, kayaking, volleyball and relaxing are all on the schedule.
• Saturday evening we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner grilled to perfection then it’s time to sit by the bonfire, relax, make s’mores and check out the stars.
• On Sunday we will have another great breakfast then break camp and get you back to the train at noon.

FAQs

🏠 The Property; 4 acres on the land we used to bring guests our Hudson Valley Adventure House weekend.  This is a private residence that is allowing us to use it for a civilized weekend experience.  The tents will be set up on the land surrounding the house. There are people living in the house but you will have access to a dedicated bathroom with a separate entrance just for campers.

🙋 Can I come alone? YES! 98% of attendees come solo—this is the perfect event to meet new people in a laid-back setting.

🦟 Is it buggy? It depends on the weather, but bug spray is always recommended.

🐻 Are there beasts and critters?  Mostly chipmunks, groundhogs, deer, turkeys.  There is a bear in the area but has not been active and is usually more interested in the area garbage cans.

🔋 Can I charge my phone? There’s no electricity at the campsite, but we have a portable power inverter for charging personal devices.

🔹 Is there a bathroom? Yes! you will have access to a clean bathroom and shower inside the house.

🐶 Can I bring my dog? Sorry, no pets allowed.
