Enjoy a beautiful Spring Day out of the city with a great adventure in the Mid-Hudson Valley.  We will start our day with a delicious lunch at The Culinary Institute of America’s Graduate Student Cafeteria “The Egg” overlooking the Hudson River.  After Lunch it is off to one of the most famous museums in the Hudson Valley The Dia for a group tour.  Following the tour we will cross the river and enjoy a wine tasting at America’s Oldest Vineyard; Benmarl Vineyard and Winery (tasting is optional).

What to expect:

  • You will take the 9:45am metro north train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie. (You may also drive to meet the group in Poughkeepsie)
  • Your guide will meet you at the station and bring you to all the days activities which include: Lunch at The Egg, admission and tour at Dia and a trip to the winery.
  • You will be on the 6:08pm train back to NYC from Beacon
About Dia Beacon: Occupying a former Nabisco box-printing factory on the banks of the Hudson River, Dia Beacon presents the majority of Dia’s collection of art from the 1960s to the present as well as special exhibitions, new commissions, and public and education programs. Since its opening in May 2003, Dia Beacon has helped transform the city of Beacon into a vibrant arts destination for visitors from the region, New York City, and beyond.
 
About The Egg at The Culinary Institute:  This is the student run cafeteria where you can enjoy creative and innovative burgers, pizzas, soups, salads, specially themed dishes and sandwiches.

Cost:  $105 general members / $95 Lifetime VIP members

Included: One entree and soft drink at CIA Cafeteria, admission and tour of Dia Museum, transportation to and from all activities, gratuities and donations.

Not Included: train fare.  Wine tasting ($10) since not everyone may not want to drink.  If not drinking you can have a home made hot chocolate from their bake shop!
Can I come alone?  Yes, 98% of those attending this event normally register on their own. You welcome to bring as many non member guests, friends & co workers as you’d like, just make sure to register for the number of people that you want below. Our staff will be ready to greet you and introduce you to others whether you are on your own or with guests.

Do I need a ticket? No we will have your name on our list.

Dress Code:  Dress for the weather.  Everything is casual on this day.

How will I find the group?  We will send you a confirmation email with exact locations, contact info and names of those who are hosting the event when you register. We will send follow up emails as we get closer, usually the night before or morning of.

Ages: 21+  Most of our events attract 20’s -40’s although some events can skew younger or older (50’s) depending on the event. Some events are clearly age specific as indicated.   If this is an issue for you contact Dave at the address below and we can usually give you a very accurate idea of what to expect.

Who Comes to These?: Our activities attract NY Professionals from all backgrounds and professions who are looking to expand their social circles.  You will also find others who are looking to learn something, network for business, try something they have never done before or enjoy something they love doing but can’t get their friends to do. There may also be some people looking to find that someone special who share a passion for the same activities (but don’t make this the sole reason you come out).
