The Hudson Valley Adventure House is NYSN’s Home Base for themed group weekend getaways and retreats in The Hudson Valley!  Just 65 miles north of NYC and easy to get to by Metro North, Amtrak, Trailways Bus or car, it is your guaranteed fresh air and fun destination this Summer!

Each weekend at the house will have a different theme to get you out and enjoying the countryside of the Hudson Valley. This weekend we invite all members 40s+ to join where we provide almost everything you need.

The House:

The house is a modern and clean chalet style house located in a wooded area across the river from Poughkeepsie, NY.  There are 4 bedrooms and 3 baths on 3 levels, A huge wrap a round deck, a big firepit, BBQ grill, meditation paths, games and plenty of room to unwind!

Space is limited to 6 (plus Dave & additional host )

What to Expect:

A laid back weekend of mature NYSN members and friends gathering to explore and relax.

• You can take Metro North to Poughkeepsie or drive to the property for 6pm arrival.
• After you get settled into your rooms, the group will meet on the deck for a delicious dinner.
• Then conversations around the fire pit under the stars.
• On Saturday we’ll have breakfast then set out to explore Rhienbeck and Kingston, NY including a beautiful nature walk. We’ll grab lunch at a local cafe or the Culinary Institute of America Cafeteria.
• Along the way we will also stop at a local winery or cider mill.
• Saturday evening it will be back to the deck for dinner.
• We’ll play games and relax Saturday evening. (Pickle Ball, Lawn Bowling, Billiards, etc)
• Sunday Morning breakfast, relaxing time and check out at 2pm. We will stop at a cafe for lunch prior to train time.

Accommodations:

Each room is spacious with 2 twin beds and with a shared bath (2 full bathrooms).  Towels, linens are provided.

Cost: $450 General Members / $400 Lifetime VIP Members (Shared room, shared bath).

$800 Master bedroom w/ private bath and queen bed.  (There will be a $300 supplement for anyone taking the Master Bedroom with a significant other or friend)

Included:

• Transportation from Poughkeepsie train to and from the house and to all activities for the weekend.
• Appetizers, cheeses and crackers for relaxing time
• Buffet style dinner cooked to perfection Friday and Saturday evening. 2 entrees, sides and dessert,  (meat and non meat options).
• Breakfast to order on Saturday and Sunday Morning (eggs, omelettes, fruits, grains, coffee, tea, juices).
• Snacks and beverages.
• Activities at the house. Linens and towels. Park fees, Host fees,cleaning fees,  taxes and gratuities.

Not Included:  Train fare, lunch Saturday, anything purchased along the way.

Can I come alone?  Yes 99% will be on their own.

House Rules

• Be respectful of others
• Please clean up after yourself when using common areas.
• No pets (sorry)
• Amplified music must be kept at reasonable levels during the day.  Quiet time is 8pm for any outside activities.
• Participants are responsible for any damages.

Please note that Dave Cervini and another NYSN Staff member will be your hosts for the weekend.  The adventure house is a private residence where 2 children reside in the basement.  Times where the children and the adults may be in the same space will be limited (but something to consider when you register)

Illness Protocols/Refunds
In accordance with current city and state protocols vaccination status or masks are not mandatory for this event.  However, we do ask that participants act in a responsible manner and do not attend if feeling ill, showing symptoms or have been recently exposed to any of the current illnesses..  Mask wearing is optional unless the venue or city has mandated that.  Everyone should respect the comfort levels of others as we transition into this next phase of socializing.

This event is nonrefundable unless canceled.  If you have tested positive for Covid or are sick with any ailment  that prohibits you from attending, we will do our best to provide you with credits for select future events with a copy of your positive test results or doctor’s note. Credits may or may not equal the cost of the event missed and may only be applied to events selected by NYSN.
