We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!  We have put together a fun night of games that will include riddles, puzzles, spells and potions and we will be playing them as if we were part of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  You don’t need knowledge of Harry Potter to enjoy this event, so don’t worry if you’re not a Potter fan, this event is also for the Potter-curious. Costumes are encouraged! We’ll be sorting you into teams that will compete throughout the night for the most points.  Join dozens of fun NYSN members and friends from several different social groups to enjoy a night of friendly competition.  We very much look forward to receiving you as part of the new generation of Hogwarts students!

How it works:

  • We will divide you up into houses based on a sorting test as you walk in the door.

  • We will have Harry Potter themed games throughout the night such as:

    • Tom’s Riddles to the Sorcerer’s Stone

    • Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets Guess Who game

    • Flitwick’s Charms Class – Spell matching

What to expect:

  • NYSN hosts are on hand to welcome you and introduce you to others at the event.

  • Up to 100 members and friends come together to mix, mingle and play games with a Harry Potter theme.

  • We will have a special space reserved for 0ur group.

COVID-19 Protocols:

In accordance with current city and state protocols vaccination status is not mandatory for this event.  However we do ask that participants act in a responsible manner and do not attend if feeling ill, showing symptoms or have been recently exposed.  Mask wearing is optional and everyone should respect the comfort levels of others as we transition into this next phase of socializing in the Covid era.

Admission: $15 General Members / NYSN VIP Members $10

How long does it last?  As long as there are people there.  The best time to be there is between 5:00pm and 6:30pm.

Can I come alone?  Yes, 98% of those attending this event will likely register on their own. You are welcome to bring as many nonmember guests, friends & coworkers as you’d like, just make sure to register for the number of people that you want below. Our staff will be ready to greet you and introduce you to others whether you are on your own or with guests.

Do I need a ticket?  Unless otherwise instructed, if you registered and paid for this event or registered with a voucher your name will be on a list at the door.  If you register within 3 hours of the event it is best to bring proof of payment.   If registering with a voucher follow the instruction on the voucher.

Dress Code:  At all events we ask that you use your best judgement based on the event. There are never jackets and ties required unless specifically stated.  Keep it neat, be yourself and look your best always.

How will I find the group?  We will send you a confirmation email with exact locations, contact info and names of those who are hosting the event when you register for the event and send follow up emails as we get closer.

Ages: 21+  Most of our events attract folks in their 20s -40s although there may be some 50s.  If this is an issue for you contact Dave at the address below and we can usually give you a very accurate idea of what to expect.
