It will be sunny and 75 degrees this Saturday! Join us for a beautiful Spring day in the Hudson Valley for an amazing dual hike in Rosendale NY. Each hike is moderate and includes amazing views and history!
Hike Host/Guide: Dave Cervini
What To Expect:
First we will enjoy an easy hike at The Snyder Estate home of the Widow Jane Cement Mine, a half mile stroll that bring you past the awesome mine caves from the 1800’s.
We’ll stop for lunch there
After lunch we’ll head to Joppenberg Mountain at 1.5 mile moderate hike with a 500 foot elevation gain that offers stunning views of the valley and Rondout Creek.
Following the hike you will have a chance to explore Main Street in Rosendale then we’ll stop at a local cafe for a beverage before heading back to the train.
Cost $80 General members / $70 Lifetime VIP Members. Includes: transportation to and from the transportation to all of the activities from Poughkeepsie, guide fees, park fees.
Not Included: Lunch, train fare. We will stop at a local deli prior to the hike for those who do not bring their own lunch.
How Do I Get There?
You can take the 8:56am Metro North Train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie or you can drive to meet our van at the station. You can also take Amtrak to Poughkeepsie as long as you arrive by 11am.
Can I come alone?
Yes 99% of those attending will likely be traveling on their own.
How Hard Is The Hike?
The Snyder Estate is fairly flat, very easy. The Joppenberg Mountain hike is considered moderate 4-5 out of 10 difficulty. Hiking shoes are recommended but sneakers would be fine.
