CURRENTLY WE HAVE ROOM FOR ONE MALE IN A SHARED ROOM OR A COUPLE OR SINGLE IN A SINGLE ROOM.  AIRFARES AS OF 3/20 ARE FROM $180-$800 DEPENDING ON THE CARRIER AND THE TIME YOU TRAVEL. SEE AIRFARES. The New Orleans Heritage Music Festival (sometimes known as Jazzfest) is a multi-day outdoor music festival with 10 different stages spread out over several acres that features top names and new musicians with all types of musical styles.  Pop, Rock, Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Blues, Reggae, Swing and more!  It is a calmer, safer and more sophisticated way to experience New Orleans than Mardi Gras.  This will be our 16th year of bringing groups down and a great way to experience both the touristy and not so touristy attractions that the area has to offer.  You’ll have an NYSN host as your guide and your activities planner for the weekend which will feature great music, fun activities and the most amazing food!  Checkout this special video about the trip

Here is how it works:

-We have reserved a block of 9 rooms at The French Market Inn on Decatur Street which is in famous French Quarter and close to everything!  Rooms will be shared (2 per room) IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A SHARED ROOM AS A SINGLE YOU MAY PAY THE SINGLE SUPPLEMENT.   We will pair you with someone compatible if sharing. This is a very cool hotel with beautiful clean rooms, authentic New Orleans atmosphere, modern amenities, a pool, gas burning lamps outside and an awesome staff. (You don’t spend a lot of time in the room anyway).

-There will be an NYSN host with you for the entire trip to help you get the best out of your trip.

-You will need to arrange your own airfare to New Orleans.  All we ask is that you arrive some time between 3pm and 8pm on Friday.  The concerts run from noon til 7pm on Saturday and Sunday so you should plan to depart on Monday.  There is no discount if you arrive or depart earlier or later.

-We will arrange for a place to meet the group on Friday for drinks then we will head to a local restaurant for dinner and go over what we will be doing for the weekend.

-Each day we will designate activities and meeting places so that you can join the group for breakfast, lunch, the concerts, dinners and other activities.   You may also use some time to explore on your own.

Can I come alone? Yes 99% of those attending will likely come on their own.

What to wear: Dress for the weather.  It is normally in the 80’s during the day. Shorts, t-shirts, sneakers are pretty much all you will need all weekend.  Maybe something a little nice for the evenings. But still casual.

What is included? $875 (shared male only)  $1,250 (single)  includes 3 nights,  2 days concert tickets, a private  tour of the French Quarter. Trip host expenses. All taxes and tips.

Not included: all meals, transportation to and from airport.

What is there to do besides the concerts: The are a ton of things you can do while you are there.  There are hundreds of different tours (besides the one we will take), casino, river tours, cool shops and of course amazing music.

How crazy is it? This trip can be as calm or crazy as you want it to be.  Bourbon Street is always nutty but totally not super crowded like Mardi Gras.  The concerts are fairly easy to see many of the stages have seats and others you sit on the grass.  For the larger acts you will probably have to stand.

Space is limited to  16 people.  Payment in full is due upon registration.  No refunds after February 1st.

If you have questions contact Dave at 646-418-1098 or email dave@newyorksocialnetwork.com

Is this wild like Mardi Gras or Crazy like Woodstock? No! It is a more mature and much more organized version of both. It is not as crowded and the ages tend to be more 30’s – 50’s. See photo’s from our last trip Jazzfest Trip. If you want to go a little crazy there will be certainly times and places for that!

What will we be doing? The group will meet on Friday evening for happy hour.  I will let you know the schedule for the weekend which you can join in or explore on your own or a little of both. We’ll find some great restaurants and local clubs to visit. I’ll bring you to some of the “must do” things like Cafe du Monde and Bourbon Street and I’ll also take you away from the touristy areas to where the locals hang out.

Is it safe? It is like NYC, if you stay out of the bad areas you will be fine.  I will make sure to tell you where to avoid but it it fairly obvious.

Is this a singles trip? Not really but I would imagine that most coming are single.  Come for the experience first especially with someone who knows his way around.

How do I get there? You will need to arrange your own airfare. Some people are coming in earlier or leaving later so they can explore more.  The airfares tend to be lower that way.  If you do come early or leave late I can suggest things to do and cheaper places to stay.  BTW plan to take a flight where you will have to change planes.  There are very few direct flights to New Orleans.

$875 (Shared)/ $1,250(Single)  is that expensive? For a festival weekend in New Orleans, NO.  They jack up the prices of the hotels for festival weekends.  Our hotel is right in the French Quarter so it is within walking distance to everything except the festival which is a short cab ride away.  You want to be as close to the French Quarter as possible for many reasons.  The little extra you pay helps cover part of my trip so I can be there to make your trip better!

I still have questions.. Great!  Call me at 646-418-1098 or email dave@newyorksocialnetwork.com.

I hope you can come, it is really a fun trip especially if you have never been there before.

All the Best!
