Governors Island Fall Foliage & Pumpkin Point Walk

This fall, Governors Island comes alive with beautiful foliage, rolling hills, crisp autumn air and incredible views of the New York City skyline!

Join us for a fun and social afternoon exploring one of NYC’s most unique destinations. Come alone or with friends and meet other NYSN members as we stroll through Governors Island’s historic sites, open spaces and scenic waterfront areas.

Along the way, we’ll explore some of the island’s fascinating history, check out its arts and cultural spaces, and enjoy plenty of opportunities for great fall photos.

As an added bonus, we’ll visit Pumpkin Point, Governors Island’s special fall celebration happening that weekend. Enjoy the festive atmosphere, pumpkins, seasonal activities and everything that makes an autumn day on Governors Island special!

How It Works

• Meet us at the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street, at 11:00 AM, where we’ll take the ferry to Governors Island together. Your ferry ticket is included — no need to reserve one on your own!
• Come alone or bring friends. This is a relaxed, social event designed to make it easy to meet and mingle with other participants.
• We’ll explore the island on foot, stopping at several historic sites, scenic overlooks and points of interest along the way.
• We’ll spend time at Pumpkin Point to enjoy the fall festivities and atmosphere.
• We’ll also stop to grab a bite from one of the food vendors on the island.
• Throughout the walk, your NYSN host will share interesting stories and historical information about Governors Island.

What If It Rains?

This is an outdoor event. If the event is canceled due to rain, refunds will be issued.

$15 General Members
$10 VIP Members

Registration covers the host fee only. Food and other purchases on the island are additional.

Can I Come Alone?

Absolutely! About 98% of the people who attend our events register on their own. Our host will be there to welcome you and help introduce you to others.

You’re also welcome to bring nonmember guests, friends or coworkers — just make sure everyone registers in advance.

Dress Code

Dress comfortably and for the weather. We’ll be outside and doing a fair amount of walking, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
