Governors Island Scavenger Hunt Adventure

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for an unforgettable day on Governors Island—172 acres of green space, historic landmarks, breathtaking harbor views, and hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.

Located in the heart of New York Harbor between Lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn waterfront, Governors Island is home to Revolutionary War forts, scenic walking paths, public art, rolling hills, and some of the best skyline views in New York City. The best way to explore it? Through an exciting Scavenger Hunt!

Whether you’re coming solo or with friends, you’ll meet new people, work together in teams, and uncover fascinating pieces of the island’s history while exploring dozens of unique buildings, monuments, gardens, and outdoor spaces.

How It Works

  • Meet us at 10:15 AM at the Battery Maritime Building (10 South Street, Manhattan).
  • We’ll board the ferry together—and your ferry ticket is included! No need to reserve one yourself.
  • We’ll divide everyone into teams before arriving on the island.
  • Each team will have 90 minutes to solve clues hidden throughout Governors Island. Clues may be found on historical markers, public art, monuments, wildlife, architecture, and other hidden gems.
  • Teams will race to uncover as many clues as possible before meeting at the designated finish location.
  • The team with the most points wins fun prizes!
  • Afterward, stick around to enjoy one of the island’s food trucks, continue exploring, relax with your new friends, or catch the ferry back whenever you’re ready.
