🚶‍♀️ Ridge to River Trail Adventure – Escape the City for a Scenic Day in New Paltz, NY!

Looking to breathe in some fresh country air and enjoy a relaxing walk with great people? Join us for a fun and easy day trip to New Paltz, NY, where you’ll explore the Ridge to River Trail—a beautiful path connecting the Wallkill River to the stunning Shawangunk Mountain Ridge (“The Gunks”). This mostly paved and gravel carriage road winds through rolling hills, vibrant farmland, and peaceful woodland along the base of the ridge.  This is one of our easiest hikes!

🗓 How the Day Works

• Getting There:
  Take the 8:56 AM Metro-North train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie or drive and meet us at the station.

• Your guide will greet you at the station and drive the group to all activities, then return you in time for the train back (approx 5:50pm).

🚨 What to Expect

• 🌟 7 awesome members and friends will be joining – perfect for making new connections!

• 🥪 You may bring your lunch or we will stop at a local shop followed by a scenic picnic along the Hudson River.

• 🚶‍♂️ Walk the Ridge to River Trail – a peaceful and picturesque 6-mile roundtrip stroll.

• 🍎 Visit a charming local farm stand.

• 🍷 Finally enjoy local wine, beer or hard cider at a Red Maple Cellars , a local Vineyard

• 🚆 Return on the 5:50 PM train back to NYC (or earlier, depending on timing).

🌄 About the Hike

• Distance: 6 miles total (roundtrip)

• Difficulty: 1–2 out of 10 (mostly flat carriage road with minor inclines)

• Trail Type: Out-and-back with two small loop sections

• Pace: Leisurely – ideal for beginners or casual walkers

This is one of our easiest hikes, but you should be comfortable walking 6 miles over a few hours. If that sounds good to you, we’d love to have you along!

• Flying Solo? Absolutely! Most guests come alone – it’s a great way to meet new people.
