The Hudson Valley Adventure House is NYSN’s home base for themed group weekend getaways and retreats in the Hudson Valley!  Just 65 miles north of NYC and easy to get to by Metro-North, Amtrak, Trailways bus or car, it is your guaranteed fresh air and fun destination this summer!

Each weekend the house will have a different theme to get you out and enjoying the countryside of the Hudson Valley. This weekend you have a chance to enjoy our Hike and BBQ Day trip PLUS stay overnight with a small group of members.

It’s like a Bed & Breakfast on steroids!

The House:

The house is a modern and clean chalet style house located in a wooded area across the river from Poughkeepsie, NY.  There are 4 bedrooms and 3 baths on 3 levels, a huge wraparound deck, a big fire pit, BBQ grill, meditation paths, games and plenty of room to unwind!  Take a virtual tour of the property

What to Expect:

A laid-back weekend of mature NYSN members and friends gathering to explore and relax. You can do as much or as little as you would like.  The property has 4 beautiful and quiet acres where you can relax, read, meditate, play games, sit in the tree house and more!

    • Come up Saturday morning and arrive by 10:45am with the day trippers. We will pick you up at the train (take the 8:50am train from Grand Central)
    • You will go on a level 3 out of 10, 2 mile hike.
    • After the hike it is back to the house for BBQ lunch
    • following lunch relax at the house play games, explore then to the hard cider farm.
    • at around 4:30pm you will take a walk on the Walkway Across the Hudson State Park.
    • Then the day trippers will go home and you will come back to the house for dinner with Dave and Danielle from our staff myself and whoever else stays over.
    • After dinner we’ll have a bonfire with s’mores.
    • Then you can enjoy a relaxing night in one of the rooms. (private or shared)
    • Sunday morning breakfast with eggs (from our chickens) and maple syrup from the property (along with other things)
    • Back on the train by noon..
    We will likely have 7 people on the day trip and 4 people staying over. You can invite a friend or significant other.
    $175 per person Private room (shared bath): lunch, dinner and breakfast.  Adult beverages, snacks, s’mores, transportation to all activities, host fee, linens, cleaning fee, tax and gratuity.

    $150 per person Shared room (shared bath): lunch, dinner and breakfast.  Adult beverages, snacks, s’mores, transportation to all activities, host fee, linens, cleaning fee tax and gratuity.

    Food will be meats, veggies, salads, sides beverages and dessert for dinner. I can accommodate any special requests.

    The weather is going to be really nice Sat/Sun and I can guarantee you a gazillion stars each night by the fire..

 

Included:

  • Transportation from Poughkeepsie train to and from the house and to all activities for the weekend.
  • Appetizers, cheeses and crackers for relaxing time.
  • Buffet style dinner cooked to perfection Saturday evening. 2 entrees each night, sides and dessert,  (meat and non-meat options).
  • BBQ Lunch Saturday
  • Breakfast cooked to order Sunday morning (eggs, omelets, fruits, grains, coffee, tea, juices).
  • Snacks and beverages.
  • Activities at the house. Linens and towels. Park fees, host fees, cleaning fees, taxes and gratuities.

Not Included:  Train fare,  anything purchased along the way.

Can I come alone?  Yes 99% will be on their own.

House Rules

  • Be respectful of others
  • Please clean up after yourself when using common areas.
  • No pets (sorry).
  • Amplified music must be kept at reasonable levels during the day.  Quiet time is 8pm for any outside activities.
  • Participants are responsible for any damages.

Please note that Dave Cervini and another NYSN Staff member will be your hosts for the weekend.  The adventure house is a private residence where Dave’s 2 children reside in the basement apartment.  Times where the children and the adults may be in the same space will be limited (but something to consider when you register).

Illness Protocols/Refunds
In accordance with current city and state protocols vaccination status or masks are not mandatory for this event.  However, we do ask that participants act in a responsible manner and do not attend if feeling ill, showing symptoms or have been recently exposed to any of the current illnesses..  Mask wearing is optional unless the venue or city has mandated that.  Everyone should respect the comfort levels of others as we transition into this next phase of socializing.

This event is nonrefundable unless canceled.  If you have tested positive for Covid or are sick with any ailment  that prohibits you from attending, we will do our best to provide you with credits for select future events with a copy of your positive test results or doctor’s note. Credits may or may not equal the cost of the event missed and may only be applied to events selected by NYSN.
