The Hudson Valley is America’s oldest winemaking and grape growing region. Join us for this fun day where you will enjoy a spectacular spring day out of the city, taste great wines and meet a fun group of NYSN members and friends. The group will also visit the famous Walkway Over The Hudson Park.
What to expect:
-You will start your day with the beautiful train ride on Metro-North from Grand Central alongside the Hudson. Along the way you will be treated to dazzling views of the Hudson Valley. You may also drive or meet the group there if you live north of the city. Please contact info@newyorksocialnetwork.com to make arrangements.
-Your guide will meet you in Poughkeepsie then bring you to the famous Walkway Over The Hudson Park. This was a train bridge connecting New England with the Midwest from 1889-1973. In 2009 it was paved and reopened as a park connecting the towns of Poughkeepsie and Highland, NY. It is one of the most visited parks in the Northeast.
-At the end of the walkway your guide will bring you to a beautiful setting for lunch
-Following lunch, we will visit 3 local wineries
-We will also have a chance to stop at a local farm stand for those who would like to bring home some fresh fruits and veggies.
-Your guide will then bring you back to the train station for the 5:50pm train back to the city.
Included: $135 ($115 V.I.P. Members) includes: transportation from train to all wineries and attractions. Tasting at 2 of the wineries, lunch all taxes and gratuities. Lunch will include a sandwich or salad, chips and soft drink.
Not included: Since not all participants will take the train or drink at ALL, the wineries, train fare and 1 tasting is not included. Tastings range from $5-$10 for flights of 5/6.
Wineries could include: Stoutridge, Benmarl, Glorie, El Paso and/or Kedem.
What to bring:
-Dress for the weather. Casual and comfortable. -A large backpack or bag if you wish to bring home vegetables from local farm stand or bottles of wine.Covid 19 Protocols:
- Please do not come if you have been exposed. You may cancel up to one week for a refund. Within one week you will be given a credit to use for selected events.
- We will take temperatures when you arrive.
- Event limited to 7 people so there is space for everyone to be safe.
- Face masks must be worn while within close proximity..
Can I come alone? Yes, 98% of those attending this event normally register on their own. You welcome to bring as many non member guests, friends & co workers as you’d like, just make sure to register for the number of people that you want below. Our staff will be ready to greet you and introduce you to others whether you are on your own or with guests.
Do I need a ticket? If this is a free event, no. For paid events: It is always best to print out the ticket confirmation or save it on your devices as proof of purchase especially if you have purchased your ticket on the same day as the event.
Dress Code: At all events we ask that you use your best judgement based on the event. There are never jackets and ties required unless specifically stated. Keep it neat, be yourself and look your best.
How will I find the group? We will send you a confirmation email with exact locations, contact info and names of those who are hosting the event when you register. We will send follow up emails as we get closer, usually the night before or morning of.
Ages: 21+ Most of our events attract 20’s to 40’s although some events can skew younger or older (50’s) depending on the event. Some events are clearly age specific as indicated. If this is an issue for you contact Dave at the address below and we can usually give you a very accurate idea of what to expect.
Who Comes to These?: Our activities attract NY Professionals from all backgrounds and professions who are looking to expand their social circles. You will also find others who are looking to learn something, network for business, try something they have never done before or enjoy something they love doing but can’t get their friends to do. There may also be some people looking to find that someone special who share a passion for the same activities, but please don’t make this the sole reason you come out.

What if the weather impacts the event? We will determine if the event will happen about 24 hours prior to the start. You will be notified as soon as we know. We usually send updates as well
This event is nonrefundable unless the event is canceled or rescheduled.
