Take a breather from the city and spend a day in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Enjoy hiking, a riverside BBQ, games and more.

 

What to expect:

  • You may take Metro-North or drive to meet the group in Poughkeepsie, NY.
  • Your guide will pick you up in our van and bring you to an easy Level 4/5 hike (out of 10 difficulty).
  • Next, we will head to the NYSN private riverside campsite for a BBQ lunch and join the group who are camping that weekend.
  • After lunch we’ll socialize, play games and hike the property. You’re welcome to take out one of our kayaks or go swimming in the river. A place to change and a shower are available.
  • You will be brought back to the Poughkeepsie train station in time for the
    5:51pm Metro-North train back to the city.

Menu: We are happy to accommodate your food preferences—just let us know!

The basic menu will include hamburgers, beef hot dogs, grilled chicken, potato/macaroni salads, coleslaw and chips. Water and soft drinks will also be on deck.

Cost: $140 ($125 Lifetime VIP members) includes:  transportation to and from the train station to all activities, hiking fees, guide fees, BBQ lunch (we will accommodate your food needs), all taxes and tips.

This event is nonrefundable unless canceled.

Not included: Train fare, items you may purchase

What to bring: 1 liter of water for hike, comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers, backpack, sandals or water socks for kayaking, bathing suit and towel if swimming, and sunblock.

Can I come alone? Yes, most guests do! It’s a great way to meet new people.

Dress Code: Dress for the weather.  Comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers are recommended.
