Please note that we will follow COVID-19 precautions at this event.

Governors Island is now open to the public in winter!  Governors Island is 172 acres of urban bliss complete with forts (yes, forts! This used to be an Army base!), rolling hills and stunning views of New York City. Governors Island is at the heart of New York Harbor nestled between Lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn waterfront. We’ve got a cool way for you to explore it. Two words—Scavenger Hunt!
Come meet new people and journey through dozens of unique historic buildings and outdoor spaces! Discover the rich arts and culture of the island and breathe fresher air and stretch your arms wider than allowable on the rush hour 6 train.

How It Works:

  • We will meet at the Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street at 11:15 AM and we will take the ferry over together. We have your ferry ticket! NO NEED to reserve on your own.
  • Come alone or with friends, we will set up the teams!
  • Each team will have 90 minutes to find as many clues as they can on the island (clues will be in historical markers, wildlife, tourists, statues and hidden secrets.
  • At the end, each team will end at a specific location to see which group has uncovered the most clues to win prizes!
  • After the prizes are awarded, you can hang with the group and have a bite to eat at one of the food trucks, stay to explore more or head back

What if it rains/snows?

Refunds will be given if the event is canceled due to rain or snow.

Cost:  $30 general members / $20 VIP Members
