The Hudson River Greenway is one of the most beautiful experiences in NYC. What was once eroding shorelines and crumbling piers has now been transformed into a sprawling pathway that hugs the river with spectacular views, parks and paths.
The trip is 15 Miles round trip on mostly all flat paths (until Washington Heights).
Covid protocols will be enforced.
How it works:
- Our group will meet at the Citibike location at Amsterdam and 78th.
- We will bike over to the 79th street Boat Basin Cafe then up the Greenway.
- At the Cloisters we will find a place to rest and have lunch before heading back. You may bring your own lunch or order from the cafe
What are the Cloisters?
Branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that was constructed out of sections of French medieval monasteries, offers an extensive collection of statues, paintings, stained glass windows and tapestries.
If you don’t have a bike:
Find info on https://www.citibikenyc.com/pricing
Difficulty level: 12 of the 15 miles are flat. There are some areas near the GW Bridge that have grades of 4.5%. Most will likely have to get off and push their bikes. If you are having issues keeping up with the group you may proceed at your own pace apart from the group.
