This is one of our most breathtaking hikes!  Challenge your sense of adventure as you work your way to the top of the Spring Farm Trail Head as the hustle and bustle of the city gives way to quiet, forested paths and 360 degree views of the valley and the famous Gunks Mountain range near New Paltz, NY. Enjoy an invigorating day out of the city with other fun members of our group as you will be treated to some of the most spectacular views of the Hudson Valley.

Your day will begin with the breathtaking train ride from Grand Central along the Hudson River.  The concrete and congestion of the city will melt away to rolling hills and dazzling river views.  Your guide/host will meet you at Poughkeepsie train station (the last stop) and wisk you off to a mountain range where you will spend about 2 hours hiking with a stop along the way to enjoy lunch overlooking the valley.  After the hike we will visit a farm stand for free Hard Cider Samples and fresh veggies. If time permits we will enjoy a craft brew at The Culinary Institute of America. This hike includes a moderate rock scramble (climbing on boulders) it is suggested for those who are in good shape. No experience needed.

$85 ($75 for VIP members) includes:  round trip transportation from train station to all attractions, hiking, all hiking fees.taxes and tips. You can also opt to drive to meet the group in Poughkeepsie.

What is not included: since not all will be drinking, brewery costs (usually $2-$5 per person), lunch. Train.

What to bring: Hiking shoes or sneakers with hard soles and good treads, sunblock, bottled water, bag lunch.

What to expect: 7-13 fun and friendly people who love the outdoors.

Hiking level: The hike is fairly easy with some forest paths and carriage roads (level5)  The rock scramble would be a 6 out of 10 difficulty for a rock scramble. If you are afraid of heights there are a few spots that may get you.  If you have never done this before and have question contact dave@newyorksocialnetwork.com.  You guide will be with you the whole way and there is no race to the top , but once you get there you’ll appreciate the effort you made
