The Manhattan Community Boathouse is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that provides free kayaking at Pier 96 in Hudson River Park.  Experience Kayaking on the Hudson River courtesy of them with a group of NYSN members and friends! Paddling is suitable for people of all ages and athletic abilities, and there is a time limit on the water to 20 minutes to allow everyone to have a turn. Be sure to dress accordingly as you will get wet in the boats. There are lockers for any items you would like to keep dry, and changing rooms at Pier 96.  Kayaking is free and a portion of the fee we are charging will go towards a donation to the Boathouse. How it works:

  • The group will meet in front of Jake’s Saloon on 57th and 10th at 9am
  • We will walk over as a group to the Boat House.
  • Each participant will get a short lesson then get to paddle for 20 minutes.
  • Following the kayaking you may want to join the group at a local restaurant for a bite to eat
Please note that you should have some swimming ability.
