Craving some fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a little adventure? Leave the noise of the city behind and spend the day hiking the breathtaking Peter’s Kill Trail or Beacon Hill Trail at Lake Minnewaska. This invigorating escape includes a scenic train ride, a refreshing hike with stunning views of the Catskills, and post-hike visits to a local farm stand and hard cider farm.

🚆 Getting There:

Start your journey with the iconic ride up the Hudson River Line on the 7:55 AM Metro-North train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie.
— or drive and meet the group directly at the Poughkeepsie train station.

Once there, our guide (Dave Cervini) will meet you and transport you to all activities for the day.

🥪 The Day’s Itinerary:

• Stop to grab lunch at a local deli or bring your own

• Hike either the Peter’s Kill Trail or Beacon Hill Trail, enjoying your lunch atop cliffs with stunning views of the Catskills

• After the hike, unwind with stops at a local farm stand and a hard cider farm

• You’ll be on the 5:55 PM train back to NYC at the latest

🧭 About the Hike:

• Distance: Approx. 3 miles

• Difficulty Level: 4–5 (moderately challenging)

• Terrain: Uneven ground with rocks, roots, and seasonal leaves—expect two uphill climbs equivalent to walking up 10 flights of stairs

• Scenery: Dramatic cliffside views, cascading mini waterfalls, and serene forest paths along the “kill” (creek)
