Discover NYC’s Scenic Waterfront on This Guided Walk

The Empire State Trail, completed in 2020, stretches 750 miles from Battery Park to Canada and Buffalo—and you’ll explore one of the most scenic portions with us!

Join a friendly group of NYSN members and friends as we walk 6 miles from 79th Street down to the southern tip of Manhattan, soaking in skyline views, waterfront parks, and landmarks along the way. We’ll take a break at the end to sit, relax, and enjoy lunch together by the harbor.

🗺️ How It Works

• Meet at the 79th Street Boat Basin on the Hudson River Path

• Walk approximately 6 miles south to Battery Park

  • Estimated time: ~2.5 hours at a relaxed pace

• End at NY Harbor, where we’ll sit for lunch and take in the views
  (bring your own or grab something from a nearby cart)

• Recommended Ages: 21+

• Can I come alone? Definitely—most guests do! It’s a great way to meet new people.

• Difficulty:

  • The walk is flat and beginner-friendly, but you should be in reasonably good shape.

  • We’ll keep a comfortable, non-rushed pace.

• Dress Code:

  • Dress for the weather

  • Comfortable walking shoes required

  • Bring water and lunch/snacks (optional)

☔ Weather & Refund Policy

• In Case of Rain:

  • We’ll evaluate the forecast the night before and notify you of any changes.

  • If rescheduled, you may transfer to the new date, receive credit, or request a refund.

• Illness Policy:

  • Event is nonrefundable unless canceled.

  • If you’re sick or test positive for COVID, we may offer event credit with proof of illness.

  • Credit amount may vary and can only be applied to select future events.
